Celebrating Friends in Philly

Happy Monday Friends!

Y’all know I couldn’t attend a giant wedding bash in Philly last weekend and NOT write about it right?

If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve seen some of the snapshots of my weekend, but I figured I’d go a little more in depth on here because I’m an adult and I do what I want. Except all the stuff I can’t afford because I’m broke as a joke and have student loans up to my armpits (#ThanksObama)

So here ya go, if photo dump aren’t your thing, then I’ve sprinkled in a few tidbits here and there for ya 😉

The rehearsal dinner kicked off at a Brazillion steak house in the suburbs of Philly. The food was delicious. Since I didn’t know anyone but a total of 3 people I didn’t whip my phone out for any photos beyond the people kind. Again it was dark in there as well so you just get the dress and accessories in the car over. I posted this photo of my entire outfit on Instagram and Kohl’s asked to regram it. Why? Because I went on a LC Lauren Conrad bender the other day and was wearing practically only her line. They have yet to follow through with that so we’ll see.

Wedding Rehersal

Next up, wedding day! Of course not my wedding day like a few friends thought I meant on Insta. Apparently I’m the type of friend to get married and not invite anyone. 😉

I did my own hair and makeup so excuse me for not being supes fancy. Actually I was pretty proud on how it all came together. Shocked really….

Wedding makeup

As you can see, even with pretty makeup on I can’t make a serious face. Ignore the lighting in like every single one of my photos, I claim reception lighting for some of them and the rest just bad blogger skills 🙂

I found the absolute PERFECT lipstick the day before we left and I’m seriously in lipstick love. It’s a matte shade and didn’t wear or rub off all night. I did reapply maybe three times between the hours of noon and midnight but only because I wanted to, not because it was actually coming off. I highly recommend. Mabelline Matte Lust for Blush.

Wedding LC Dress

Here is my entire look. Again the lighting was dark so I tried my best to lighten it up and this is what we are left with….weird lighting….. Whatevs. I wore on of Lauren Conrad’s new dresses from her runway collection. It was absolutely perfect and I felt so beautiful all night long. If you wanna know what this dress looks like on a model instead, look here.  I got it on sale (plus 3 other LC dresses all under $20) so really it was a steal.

I had a friend take a few different photos of accessories, the back of my dress, shoes, etc but those are boring and I’d rather show you a few fun snaps from the reception.

Wedding Friends2

Remember Jesse? She wrote this post for me. She’s also one of the coolest people I know who lives in Seattle now…boo, but she’s so happy so I’m happy because that’s what good friends do.

Look here she is again! Also I cut JB out of this photo to my right because he wasn’t looking at the camera and was I guess moving at the time because his face if all blurry. Either that or he self-censors himself in order to not appear on my blog. It’s really not my fault I swear!

Wedding Friends

So there ya have it. We’re a classy bunch. 😉

Ok, ok, ya pulled it right out of me. Here’s a photo of me and JB. Cue the doves!

Wedding Kiss

It was really so so fun though. And I’m so happy for Mr. and Mrs. Lint (who are currently traipsing around Europe, specifically the Swiss Alps!)

Have you ever attended a wedding that you knew next to no one at?

Halloween Contest with Rover.com & PicMonkey

Happy Monday Friends!

I come to y’all today with such a fun contest! Rover.com has partnered with PicMonkey to show off our pet costume skills called #FrankenPet And while I may not love the whole dressing myself up for Halloween, I DO love a good pet costume 😀 Cute animals in costume, what’s not to love?

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

First off, Rover.com is basically an online pet-sitter finder (did that even make sense?) One would go to Rover.com to either find a pet-sitter for their pets or offer their pet-sitting skills. Pretty convenient so little Fido doesn’t haveta go stay in a kennel. Boo 😦

I feel as though I don’t need to explain PicMonkey to anyone, but just in case you haven’t sipped the Blogger kool-aid yet, it’s the most amazing photo editing site available. Not an opinion but a fact. They have a billion (also a fact) fonts, overlays, frames, and other editing tools to use.

Would you like to win a Go-Pro as well as free use of the Royale features on PicMonkey for an entire year? Le, duh. You’ve come to the right place 😀

Ok fine, so I do dress up too….who wore it best?

Contest Rules:

Between now and Halloween (aka Friday), create and share your photos online and be sure to tag them with #FrankenPet. When you tag your photos with #FrankenPet, you’ll be entered to win the grand prize: a GoPro camera and mount plus a year of PicMonkey Royale!! Additional runner-up prizes will also be given out.

One winner and one runner-up will be chosen in each category: “Creepy Canines,” “Scaredy Cats,” and “Other Beasts.” One grand prize winner will be chosen from each category so I guess if you’ve got more then one pet, get to snappin those photos!!

For more details on the contest you can click over to Rover.com. <<That link goes straight to the contest rules, I wouldn’t Trick you….I’m all about the Treats, duh 😉 Speaking of sweet, Rover.com also gave me a Promo Code for my readers. Use Code BLONDER20 for $20 off your dog boarding! My Mommy boards my dog but for an occasion when she can’t I’m all in!

She loves me….aka I’m holding her for these totally non-staged photos and she’s attacking my face to get away so she can chew her sweater off….

Have I convinced you to join in the fun? I know I’ll be sharin my spooky(?) pet photos because what’s more fun then dressing up an already adorable pet and taking pictures of it? Maybe a human baby, but let’s not push it…..

Now I demand ask kindly but with much gumption, that you also tag me in your photos so I can see them all!! (I might even pick my own and re-tweet/re-gram/re-post/re-whatever it)

Marvelous Monday Weekending

Happy Monday everyone!

Can I be real honest with y’all for a second?

I really hate writing recaps…like a lot. Maybe it’s because I can’t imagine anyone wanting to actually read about what I did over the weekend…..

Like, Hi, my name is Kelsey and I did nothing this weekend. The End.

See you just read my entire recap. It’s over, finished, finite!….But wait!

This past weekend was very different from my norm. My Mother and one of my older brothers came to visit me, which actually means I did something. Sorry library books and Netflix. (then I wonder why I’m single jeez)

I worked pretty much all day Friday until late but we managed to meet up for lunch at my fave Tom & Chee. (heads up, all they serve are variations of grilled cheese…..Need I say more 🙂 ) Then ice cream after work…..WARNING there was lots of food harmed consumed in the making of this post….

Saturday we went to Shaker Village and went on a historical journey. It was the perfect Fall weather and I actually put on real clothes so it was another win…for everyone really…

Shaker Village Lexington, KY

Of course it was unanimously decided that I make a straw bonnet look good, but alas, I didn’t leave with one….

Shaker Village Straw Bonnet

After the Village my Mom and I did a little shopping and I finally found a puffy vest that I liked (Old Navy folks). I also picked up a few new flannels so I can officially get my Basic White Girl on this Fall!

Sunday Funday we spent the morning at the Farmers Market and I was extremely elated that there was kettle corn…because like, kettle corn is life……Oh and I of course wore some of my new clothes because when I say I rarely put on real clothes I’m not exaggerating in the slightest…..

Before you go, I’m holdin the Blog Baton on Instagram today so be sure to pop on over and follow along…..then Follow me as well because….well because.

How was your weekend??

A High Five Kinda Life

There’s a few things I’ve learned in my 24 years of existence. One thing that always hold true is that when I have a lot on my mind the only thing that clears it up is a nice long run (or walk). Also that sometimes life just gives you a high five…

High Five Life

I found that on my thought-clearing run yesterday and thought, “Gee whiz, some precious soul really just made my day and they don’t even know it. People really are good and kind.” Feeling a little pep in my step I kept going. Then I came across this….

Skull Spray Paint

Thus is life. Sometimes it’s awesome and sometimes it’s crappy. (and yes, sometimes you do need that extra slice of cake). It’s all a matter of perspective. I mean who made up all these “rules” we feel we need to live by anyway? Why do they get to decide how I feel about things. Seriously, who decided that it’s lame to stay home on a Friday night if you’re single, but it’s acceptable if you’re married?

Also Twitter? I just don’t get it…..I confess: I’m a blogger who doesn’t understand the appeal of Twitter and I’m ok with that Do I have one? Yes (and you should follow me...also explain it to me). Should I lament the fact that pretty much every “it” blogger says you needa be a Pro at Twitter to be successful? (well maybe) But I won’t.

I choose to live life by my own rules and view it my own special way. If that means some people don’t get it?…..Well, oh well. I am Me and will never be anyone else. As deeply philosophical as that sounds (kidding), it’s a pretty simple concept that’s hard for some to grasp. I don’t believe in being fake, but embracing everything that makes you You! Never apologize b/c one person doesn’t understand it. If no one gets it, then you know you’ll always at least have me gettin your back. Though I hope that’s the case.

So Idk about you (no I’m not feeling 22) but I do choose to live a High Five worthy life!

What do you think? I’d rather be myself and happy then trying to conform and miserable. High five or no? Let’s chat below!

Don’t forget to check out LIZ and her Hump Day link-up! She sure knows how to keep it real 😀

Fly-By Friday

I really do feel like I’m just flying by (or driving by, but in a good way) today. I’m jet-setting (aka driving in my trusty silver bucket) back home for the weekend. Kinda crazy considering how it’s the middle of mid-terms and next weekend starts my Spring Break. But the Padre got tickets to the TN basketball game and y’all know I love me my Vols! (sorry professors…priorities, ya know 🙂 )

It’ll be a quick trip though which is why I’m 99% sure you won’t be hearing from me until Monday. If I survived my Cellular Obesity midterm that is…gulp, gotta love grad school.  (Seriously, though…..if you don’t hear from me, send out the search party lol)

Anyway, if you’re really good while I’m gone you might get some photos from my weekend. If not, you’ll still get photos from my weekend…something to look forward to then! Actually, I’m being a really bad marathon trainee and skippin my long run in favor of a basketball-watching, sister-shopping, yummy-dinner-eating kinda weekend. Sorry not sorry 🙂

That being said y’all need to stay on it and I’ll long-run vicariously though you….that will totally work!

Have a great weekend Lovelies!!
